Use caution if you must drive. 🌧️FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON... ❓WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. 📍WHERE...Portions of east Tennessee, including the following counties, Blount, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, Knox, Sevier and Union and southwest Virginia, including the following counties, Lee and Scott. ⁉️WHEN...Until 500 PM EDT. * ‼️IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 247 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported flooding in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Knoxville, Morristown, Maryville, Sevierville, Alcoa, Jefferson City, Newport, Rogersville, Gatlinburg, Dandridge, Sneedville, Rutledge, Jonesville, Pigeon Forge, New Tazewell, Bean Station, Louisville, Tazewell, White Pine and Plainview. ⚠️PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
